Introducing a unique entry level Male pelvic health course for Physical Therapists. Each participant will be able to do an evaluation on a Male standardized patient who will provide feedback on examination skills and therapist interaction during the evaluation.
• No previous internal examination skills required.
• Topics include male pelvic anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and common dysfunctions

Day 1:
8:00 – 8:30 Registration
8:30 – 8:45 Introduction
8:45 – 12:00 Anatomy and Physiology: Includes function movement labs
12:00 – 1:00 Lunch (provided)
1:00 – 1:45 Mechanisms of Pain
1:45 – 3:15 Pathophysiology – Neurological Dysfunction
3:15 – 3:30 Break (snacks/drinks provided)
3:30 – 5:00 Dysfunction in the absence of pathology
Day 2:
8:30 – 8:45 Review
8:45 – 10:45 Evaluation: Male Standardized Patient lab
10:45 – 11:00 Break
11:00 – 12:00 Intervention and integration of treatment
12:00 – 1:00 Lunch (provided)
1:00 – 1:30 Feedback from morning lab
1:30 – 2:30 Critical Thinking: Treatment Design
2:30 – 4:00 Practical Application: Functional lab and biofeedback demo
4:00 – 4:30 Questions and Wrap up for clinical application
Upon completion of this class, participants will be:
1) Able to appropriately perform a male pelvic floor examination.
2) Able to describe normal male anatomy and physiology.
3) Able to discuss pathophysiological influences of male pelvic health.
4) Able to formulate appropriate treatment or referral based upon their assessment.
5) Familiar with current research and evidence to support therapeutic interventions.
